Agile Leadership Retreat 2026

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION • APRIL 2026 • ESPAÑA

A one-week immersive experience in Spain for women leaders ready to restore, reflect, and grow alongside a curated cohort.

The Adaptive Resilience Framework

True leadership development requires more than theory—it requires knowledge, awareness, and community. Our retreat integrates all three through a methodology designed to build leaders who can adapt, anticipate, and support one another through uncertainty.

Adaptive Knowledge

Leadership On the Line

Grounded in Heifetz & Linsky's framework for navigating complex challenges and leading through change.

Grounded

Leadership

Navigating Uncertainty

Leading through uncertainty—from changing systems to evolving demands—and staying grounded as individuals and leaders.

Collective Resilience

Cohort & Community

Building lasting networks of support through shared experience, mutual exchange, and guided reflection.

Why This Matters Now

We are in a season of rapid change. Shifting priorities, evolving workplaces, and increasing demands require leaders who can stay grounded, think strategically, and lean on community. This retreat prepares you to lead through uncertainty—not just react to it.

01

The Experience

This is not a conference. It's not a vacation. It's a leadership immersion—a week in Spain where you'll step away from the demands of daily life and into intentional space for growth, restoration, and authentic connection.

Guided by Halimah Ouedraogo, DrPHc, MAS, CGHP, you'll navigate Spain as a cohort—exchanging stories, challenging perspectives, and supporting one another through your personal leadership journeys. The Mediterranean pace of life becomes your classroom.

02

Why Spain

Spain embodies rest, community, and intentional living. The siesta tradition, evening paseos, and vibrant communal culture offer a living example of what it means to reject burnout and embrace balance.

  • Experience a culture that prioritizes rest and connection

  • Learn agile leadership principles in real-world settings

  • Build lasting bonds with fellow women leaders

  • Return home with renewed clarity and purpose

03

Core Competencies

From a workforce development standpoint, this retreat focuses on building competencies that matter in uncertain times:

  • Adaptive Leadership — Navigating change and leading through uncertainty

  • Emotional Intelligence — Self-awareness and relationship management

  • Strategic Thinking — Seeing the big picture while managing details

  • Resilience & Stress Management — Sustaining energy under pressure

  • Communication & Influence — Leading through dialogue and presence

  • Cultural Agility — Leading across diverse contexts and perspectives

04

Learning from Global Perspectives

Communities in low- and middle-income countries have long navigated unreliable infrastructure, resource scarcity, and rapid change. We recognize these contexts as sources of innovation that Western leaders can learn from—especially as U.S. systems face new pressures.

  • Decentralized systems — thriving without centralized reliability

  • Resource optimization — doing more with less, sustainably

  • Community networks — mutual aid and collective problem-solving

  • Low-tech backup solutions — practical alternatives when systems fail

05

What's Included

The scholarship covers flight + lodging for selected applicants:

  • Round-trip airfare to and from Spain

  • 6 nights lodging

Leadership sessions, cultural immersion activities, and a copy of Leadership on the Line are included in the retreat experience. Meals and personal expenses are the responsibility of the participant.
