July 16, 2025
Rochester, NY — Ne Taba International proudly supported the Rochester African Community Development Organization (RACDO) at its annual celebration of African culture and community unity on Sunday, June 8, bringing together over 100 attendees from across the region. The event was a vibrant showcase of heritage, connection, and collaboration, held in the heart of Rochester with Mayor Malik Evans serving as the event's honored guest.
RACDO, an organization that champions the contributions of African individuals and families across New York, has cultivated a growing network of over 80 families, building bridges through shared culture, support, and opportunity. “The purpose of RACDO is to present and preserve the cultural heritage of Africans and persons of African descent in order to strengthen ethnic identity and enhance relationships among the diverse ethnic groups in the greater Rochester area,” said RACDO President, Mr. Fonfing Donzo.
In addition to Mayor Malik Evans, the event welcomed several distinguished community leaders and partners:
- Joanna Ra, Owner of Agape Black Belt Center and President of APAPA
- Dr. Rita Gaither, Co-Founder & CEO of Pearl Resources Inc.
- Nate Ellison, Owner of Nate Ellison Realty
- Safi Diakite, Owner of Inamagic
- Rashad A. Scott, Owner of Cinevize
Cinevize provided professional videography for the day, capturing key moments that reflected both the joy and the deep sense of purpose behind the gathering. The event also received enthusiastic logistical support from The Talented Tenth, who contributed 10+ youth leaders to help coordinate event flow, guest services, and onsite management.
As part of its broader mission, Ne Taba International continues to support cross-cultural initiatives that promote wellness, social equity, and intergenerational leadership. Events like RACDO's are a critical part of that fabric bringing families together, honoring identity, and fostering a sense of belonging that extends beyond borders. The celebration featured traditional music, dance, cultural displays, and community networking opportunities that strengthened bonds among Rochester's diverse African diaspora community.
